Guys Like Long Hair? Who Cares!
Hello all. Pea1 here.
These last few weeks, I've been in kind of a rut. Now that school's out and I'm looking for a new job, I've been rather bored at home pretending to occupy all my time job searching, when in reality I've probably done more blog posting and case solving (Nancy Drew) than job hunting. I've been looking, nothing's really jumped out at me and... oh blah blah blah, getting off topic.
Anyways, so when I get in one of these everything-is-boring-right-now-and-I-need-a-change stages, the first thing I do is cut/change my hair style. I don't know why, maybe because I feel that's the most drastic thing you can change physically about yourself within a matter of an hour or so. Last summer, I chopped my hair off a good 6 inches so that it hit just above my shoulder. Well, my hair is just past my shoulder now, and I'd like to cut a good 3 or 4 inches. I have a few reasons besides the fact that I'm in the I-need-change stage, (come on Obama...lol) but those reasons would take up a whole 'nother blog post :).
So when I talked to my mom about wanting to cut my hair, she said with concern in her voice, "Why would you want to do that? You have beautiful hair, it's long and healthy. Besides, guys like long hair." Now, I have heard this before, but is it really true? I'm not so sure anymore. Whenever I ask P2 what he thinks, being the sweetheart he is, he says, "Do YOU want to cut it? I think you'll look good either way..." and other cute things to that extent. Basically, he doesn't care, he just wants ME to choose what I think I'll be happy with. And ladies, that's the way it should be. Truth be told, when my hair was about mid-back length, I liked it, but it was a pain in the butt and I would have rather cut it. But, I was trying to please people other than myself. Guys, and even some girls would say, "Your hair is so pretty, don't cut it!" And I listened to them because I liked being noticed for that. (I wasn't in a relationship at the time).
Most women in this world use their hair as a major security blanket. It's like after a day at the salon, you just feel good! I know I did about a year ago, not so much anymore. I guess the point I'm trying to make here is don't let guys, or anyone, decide how YOUR hair should be. Keep it long, cut it, color it, perm it, relax it, wear it natural, rock the weave, do what YOU want. And remember, guys aren't all the same either (even though we think they are sometimes), they have preferences too. Not all of them prefer long hair. If you're lucky enough, you'll get one like mine that loves me no matter what my hair looks like.
With all that being said, I'm cutting my hair, hopefully before June. I plan on trying to wear it curly, and straighten it if I don't like the curls. The last hair cut I got had to grow on me a few days, but I loved it after a week. Remember, it's just hair! It'll grow back.

Pea 2: Dwayne
I'm Dwayne, or, on blogger you can refer to me as Pea 2. Like Emily, I'm a 21year old college student but studying multiple trades in the media production field. I found it hard trying to narrow down my career choices, so as of right now I'm doing a little bit of everything, and by everything I mean music, graphics, animation, and film. Honestly I feel my strongest talents fall into the music spectrum because I've been writing and producing music since middle school (of course I'm talking about hip hop music but we'll get to that in a second). I got into graphic design in high school and I'm fairly new to video production. Right now I'm trying to combine everything into one artistic piece and maybe that will define what my career is, only time will tell.
Okay on to my music. People could categorize me as a rapper, I don't, and disown that title. Mainly because I wouldn't be your stereotypical rapper, and it's really cliche to be one as a young black man. Not to offend anyone, but there are way to many people claiming that title when they don't really fit the description, "talent wise" (So I guess that's my inter hipster telling me "rappers aren't cool any more lol"). Another reason is because I produce and mix my own songs, so in other words, I'm an "Artist" that go by the stage name of Skye Allen. I cant really describe the sound I have because I pull from many different genres and yada yada yada. (I could spend an entire day writing about my music so I'll just post a link to my music here, and end it.)
Lately I've been really busy with film, Me and Emily have been working on a documentary called "BLURRED COLORS" that should be released by the end of this month. This will be our first project together and we plan on doing more (two peas in a tripod ;)). Hopefully I could get Emily to write a couple of scripts for me to film. And speaking of her writing, checkout Emily's Poetry Page, she's an amazing writer <333
Well, that's me in a nutshell, or, pea pod? lol :) thanks for reading.

Pea 2, Where Are You? (Upcoming Projects)
Hey everyone, it's Emily again :). If you're wondering where Pea 2 is, well, he's a been a busy guy lately. Some of you know that we've been working on a documentary for his final school project, but we always planned on making it a bit longer so that we can post it on YouTube and other websites. He was slaving away for the past two weeks with a serious lack of sleep, trying to finish up interviews and edit, all the while trying to keep me entertained! Phew! What a guy :). He has done an EXCELLENT job thus far (with the documentary and keeping me happy, lol) and it's about 90% complete right now. We can't wait to show it to all of you! Yay, exciting stuff!
"Blurred Colors; coming soon to a computer screen near you..."
So if you listen to pop music, unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably heard Katy Perry's song "E.T." What does this have to do with projects we're working on? Well, I fell in love with another version of this song by a talented young artist on YouTube named Laura Zocca. Her videos never cease to amaze me, and when I heard this song, my dancer's urge took over and I started choreographing a piece to it. When it's finished, Dwayne said he'd like to film it so I can post it for you guys to check out. Cool right? I'm super excited about it, I've never attempted to choreograph a piece in all my years of dancing, so it should be really fun. In the meantime, check out Laura's acoustic of "E.T." here: clickityclick.
Well, that's all folks. Tune in next time :).

Pea 1: Emily
I'm Emily, but you can refer to me as Pea 1 or P1 if you'd like. (Naturally, Dwayne is Pea 2). We refer to ourselves as "Two Peas 'n' a Pod" because we're attached at the hip, we do everything together, we enjoy the same music, movies, have the same ideologies about important things.. the list goes on! And we're always making googly eyes at each other. Sometimes we say, "People probably want to puke when they see how cute we are..." Haha! Anyways, enough about us, a little more about me.
I'm a 21 year old college student studying computer science, and I hope to develop websites one day either for myself or businesses. Dancing is my first passion, it's probably my favorite thing to do in the entire world. Along with that, I absolutely LOVE music, pretty much all types except hardcore rock/metal and some country. I spend way too much time on YouTube, usually watching new artists and beauty videos, along with some comedians. I would say I enjoy nail art videos the most, it just fascinates me what people can do with a little paint and brush (literally a little brush). And while we're speaking of YouTube videos, check out Dwayne's videos here on his channel: DAllenmuzik.
If I'm not at home or at Dwayne's, I'm usually at school or with my friends. I really wish I made more of an effort to spend time with some of my besties, though, because I get to the point where I really miss them, and of course they miss me! ;) I need some more girl-on-girl time!
I really hope you all are enjoying reading these first few posts. If I had it my way, this blog would reach thousands of people by the end of the year. I'd love to be able to share our thoughts with a bunch of other people in efforts to help them improve their relationships, or even just look forward to reading our blog every once in awhile. Once we get more photos and videos up, I hope more people will read it. You can email me or post a comment if you have any suggestions for us on how we can make this blog more appealing. I don't want this to bore you... :)
Okay guys, talk to you later!

Two Peas Who Blog
Hi! We're Emily and Dwayne, also known as "twopeasnapodx3," and welcome to our blog!
We think it's important that couples who want to have a successful relationship, especially those of you around our age, can look somewhere for tips and advice if you need it. Right about now, you might be asking yourself, "Why should I take advice from two college students who haven't even been together a whole year!?" Well, because we're confident enough in our relationship to share our thoughts, opinions, experiences, and journey as a couple. Of course, we're not experts, and everyday is a learning experience, but that's the fun of this! We can relate to you, and we're ready to advise and be advised! We'll also be writing about things we've been doing, projects we're working on together, places we've gone, date nights, etc.
Finally, let's get this thing rolling! We're looking forward to talking with you guys and sharing our experiences with you. Thanks for reading!

First off, since this is partially an advice blog, we'd like you to email us at twopeasnapodx3@hotmail.com with questions you have. It can be about anything dealing with love, relationships, dating, or even about us! Don't be shy, we won't bite ;). Also, we'll keep your identity anonymous in our response on this blog if you so wish.
Next, since we will be writing posts together and individually, we feel it's appropriate to color coordinate our entries. So, Emily's responses will be in pink and Dwayne's will be in blue. Our posts as a couple will remain in black. (Colors are subject to change at anytime). Finally, let's get this thing rolling! We're looking forward to talking with you guys and sharing our experiences with you. Thanks for reading!
